When Hope Village began exploring new ways to support resident wellness, the decision wasn't made overnight.
Instead, it unfolded over months of thoughtful discussion, learning, and collaboration. Residents and staff took the time to explore the Dividat Neuro Gym, ask questions, and carefully consider whether it was the right fit for their community.
Communities often talk about empowering residents. At Hope Village, that philosophy extends beyond daily activities and into the decisions that shape community life—including investments in wellness.
The Resident Association played an active role in evaluating the opportunity before ultimately voting to bring the Neuro Gym to campus. Rather than simply introducing a new wellness offering, Hope Village invited residents to help shape a decision that would directly impact their daily lives.
According to Hope Village Executive Director Larissa Tiede, that thoughtful process gave everyone confidence they were making the right investment.
"After carefully evaluating it, we reached a point where we simply couldn't find a reason not to move forward," she said.
As residents and staff learned more about the Dividat Neuro Gym, they saw that it reflected the kind of wellness experience they wanted for their community—one that encourages people to stay active, challenge themselves, and enjoy doing it together. It also aligned with Hope Village's broader commitment to helping residents live healthier, more active, and fulfilling lives.
When the Neuro Gym arrived, that confidence quickly turned into excitement.
After months of learning about the Neuro Gym, residents had the opportunity to experience it for themselves.
For Tiede, one moment captured the excitement perfectly.
"I watched residents trying the Neuro Gym who I've never seen use our fitness room before."
The Neuro Gym wasn't just attracting residents who already enjoyed exercising—it was drawing in people who might not have otherwise stepped into the fitness room. Curiosity led them to give it a try. The interactive games kept them engaged. Before long, residents were encouraging one another, celebrating successes, and discovering a new way to stay active together.
The enthusiasm wasn't limited to residents. Hope Village is also encouraging staff to experience the Neuro Gym as part of its broader commitment to health and well-being across the community.
As Tiede explained,
"It's clear this isn't just for residents. The Neuro Gym has benefits for all ages, and I'm encouraging my staff to use it as well. What a great way to support cognitive and physical health across our campus!"
Today, the Neuro Gym has become part of everyday life at Hope Village, with residents challenging themselves, encouraging one another, and discovering new ways to stay active together. What began as a thoughtful conversation is now helping build connection, confidence, and well-being across the community.
